Our Story
Cozy Corner Cafe was founded in 2010 by local Salem residents, Abigail Hawthorne and Elias Goode, with a simple vision: to create a welcoming space where the community could gather, connect, and enjoy exceptional coffee and food. Inspired by the rich history and unique character of Salem, Massachusetts, Abigail and Elias wanted to establish a cafe that reflected the town's cozy atmosphere and celebrated its local culture.
Originally starting as a small coffee stand in the Salem Witch Village, Cozy Corner Cafe quickly gained popularity for its high-quality coffee beans, sourced from sustainable farms in South America, and its delectable homemade pastries. The aroma of freshly brewed coffee and warm, buttery croissants soon filled the air, drawing in locals and tourists alike. As demand grew, Abigail and Elias decided to expand their business and open a full-fledged cafe on Witch Hill Road.
The new location was designed with comfort and community in mind. The cafe features plush armchairs, cozy nooks, and warm lighting, creating a relaxing and inviting atmosphere. Local artists were commissioned to create artwork inspired by Salem's history and folklore, adding to the cafe's unique charm. Over the years, Cozy Corner Cafe has become a beloved gathering place for residents, students, and visitors, hosting book clubs, poetry slams, and live music events.
In 2018, Abigail and Elias decided to pass the torch to a new generation of passionate cafe owners, siblings Samuel and Eleanor Blackwood. Samuel and Eleanor shared the same values and vision for Cozy Corner Cafe and were committed to preserving its legacy while also introducing new and exciting offerings. They have continued to uphold the cafe's commitment to quality ingredients, exceptional service, and community engagement, ensuring that Cozy Corner Cafe remains a cherished part of Salem's vibrant culture.
